French hub of the manufacture of woodwind instruments, La Couture-Boussey welcomes instrument makers since the 17th century. Abundant local boxwood was the material used to manufacture flute, oboes and clarinets. Dynasties of makers were born here, who have stamped the music history in Europe. Their savoir-faire has rapidly extended to Versailles, Paris and other European courts. The museum has an exceptional collection of more than 250 instruments : an enriching discovery of the music history.
